A voice shaped in the quiet.
Byron van der Merwe is a Christian author, speaker, property investor, and entrepreneur based in the North East of England. Originally from South Africa, Byron and his family moved to England in 2008 after sensing God's call to make it their home. After spending more than fifteen years in the south of England, they now live in the north, where they are passionate about serving their local church and being actively involved in their community.
For more than 25 years, Byron has worked in and around the property industry, building businesses, renovating homes, and helping provide housing for others. Yet throughout that journey, he carried a growing sense that God was calling him to something more.
For much of his life, Byron assumed that call would lead into full-time preaching and traditional ministry. Instead, over the last decade, God began stirring his heart to write. What started as a quiet prompting grew into a deep conviction that books could reach people far beyond the walls of a church building. Today, writing has become one of the primary ways he shares the truths and lessons God has taught him through both triumph and trial.
His books explore some of life's most important questions: How do we trust God when prayers go unanswered? How do we hear His voice with confidence? What does the Bible really teach about money, stewardship, and provision? And can God still be trusted as a good Father in the middle of pain and disappointment?
Byron has been married to his wife, Tammie, for more than 21 years, and together they are raising their two children, Joshua and Hannah. As a family, they love Jesus deeply and are passionate about seeing lives transformed by His presence, His truth, and His goodness.
Through his books, speaking, and teaching, Byron's mission is simple: to help people know God more deeply, trust Him more fully, and discover that He is far better than many dare to believe.
